If you go to the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop in Seattle you can visit Sylvester.
He’s famous for being a Mummy.
It’s well earned because as far as Mummies go he’s a good one.
But when I go down to the shop I’ll stand there and stare at him-
like I’ve been doing at least 40 years
and I will look to the people standing next to me as they speculate
and ohh an ahh over the Mummy
and think:
Does anyone see the
DEAD MAN?

Jeez did they mummify his dog too? Fido!
Fido is a Mummy’s best friend, that’s all I know.
Jeez now I have to call the pun police.
Tell them to bring their boom sticks.
Woof.
There’s a message in Sylvester’s fate: moisturize!!
Call me a negative nelly but I think it’s too late for him
what’s that in the case with him? a lizard?
Yeah Sen, I think they were going with the Southwest feeling-. I thought the dog was a better touch. But that’s just me.
You dig up (no pun intended) the best stuff!
Hi Tony
I’m pretty handy with the embalming fluid too 🙂
So who was Sylvester and where did he come from?
Slyvester was purchased by the owner of the curiousity shop back in 1955 and the story I grew up with was he was murdered during a card game back in the late 1800’s and buried in the sand in Arizona.
The Mummy Road show did tests on him and found that he had been embalmed with Arsenic- this was done during the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s. They also found evidence of gunshot wounds.
That’s all they know about him.
Here’s an interesting article about him:

Fascinating! Thanks, Anita!
