Bring It On Home Baby

As I’ve mentioned here in my journal before, I think it’s important to stand up for what you believe in, that it sometimes it comes at a cost and that at other times you have to wonder if the price you’re going to have to pay is going to be worth it.

Here in my state an individual who is running for city Council in a neighboring city has been routinely targeting individuals who dare to speak up for the rights of others or to express opinions contrary to her own on her website

She runs their pictures on her front page, tells people where they work and live and in a very indirect way ‘ encourages’ her readers to be aware of these people.

Recently this person has targeted  my husband.

She ran his picture; distorted facts about his support of human rights and out right misrepresented his position on immigration.

And then posted it all on the front page of a racist website.

She also told like-minded individuals where we live.

From her site

“The open borders crowd, including Democrat Kingpin Luis Moscoso (far left of course),”…

Luis Moscoso, Dist. 1 Democrat kingpin from Mountlake Terrace (with halo) nuzzles up with WA Gov. Christine Gregoire (sitting, no tiara) and other democrats to spend some more taxpayer cash

Quotes only- I will not provide links to this individual’s forum here.

On the face one could feel intimated and fearful. But in the world my husband and I live in we have good friends, we belong to a strong community and have the support of individuals who work every single day to make our Community a better and a safer one for everybody.

Even for people like her.

  1. This woman seems fixated on associating Luis with the word “kingpin”. She obviously sees him as powerful and herself as powerless (which is probably accurate), but instead of asking herself why she allows herself to wallow in anger, fear, and envy. People who operate from fear and hate are definitely not powerful, only pathetic. People who try to veil their intentions in vague threats are people who are too frightened to stand up and be a leader.

If she was as dedicated to justice as Luis, worked as hard to understand the issues from all points of view, and cared as much about her fellow human beings as Luis, perhaps she would learn how she could become truly powerful, too. Then she could stop feebly lashing out from her dark hiding place at people that she envies–people more honest, honorable, and admirable than herself.

  2. Luis is not far left, Shawna; it’s you who is far right.

Shawna Forde is a coward. Targeting immigrants and attempting to humiliate those who help them is disgusting behavior. Shame on you Shawna. Racism does not belong in Snohomish County and bullies are not welcome.

  3. Like the previous writer I believe that this woman has an inflated ego and is a destructive force. As a woman who prides herself in being human before anything esle I am utterly outraged at this sort of attack on someone who is dedicated to justice and ensuring that everyone has equal opportunity. I cannot understand the mind of this person. It simply will not compute.

I am naming myself because unlike this individual I will not take anonymous pot shots from some darkened corner.
    Australia.

  4. That is absolutely hateful, AM. I would say the poster should be ashamed to post something like this but obviously this individual has no shame. Whatever happened to our ability to debate issues with civility and respect……………

  5. Oh the horror.
People who have nothing good to say about others have nothing good to say about themselves. Otherwise they would be taking that angle, right?

    What a bully.

  6. My oh my, goodbye freedom. If people can’t agree to disagree, then we’ve lost all that we claim we have as a civil society. Luis is a great Democratic activist, and it is little surprise that his activism might bring him some disagreement, but ‘targeting’ him and telling people where he lives is beyond the pale. Whatever happened to civil discourse? Real conservatives would be ashamed of this woman. And as someone who has run for office with a truly clean on-the-issues campaign before, I can say that if you have a real platform to stand on, you needn’t lower yourself to the kind of personal attack this person has exhibited. Go Luis, and go Anita Marie. I’ll see you at the PCO training in February, if not before.

  7. Thank you all for speaking up here.
The reason I didn’t comment sooner was that I wanted people to see what each of you had to say…everything here was honest and wise and the next time I want to react instead of think I’m going to remember what was written here.
