The First Black President Of The United States
Dick Gregory Apologizes To
The First Black President Of The United States
The First Black President Of The United States

I have friends
who volunteer in Political Places.
They’ve been at this for years.
Today they both called me from opposite sides of the country and said the same thing.
” This election thing isn’t going well. People are angry. They saying they’re not going to vote. I’ve been doing this for over X number of years and I’ve never heard things like this before. “
” What. ” I asked ” Nobody has ever threatened to boycott an election? “
” No…the anger… “
See, all of this carrying on is being spun as ” passion ” and ” conviction ” for the candidates and I tossed that word out there but both these people disagreed on that word.
Anger.
That’s the word they used
because that is what they’re hearing.
It’s 5:07
and
I am
Officially Worried.
I’m wondering.
Did she really ‘stumble over the fact ‘?
Or was it more like a kick in the ribs?
“No person has ever won the White House without winning the Ohio primary, in either party…Somehow the people of Ohio end up picking the winners.”
–Hillary Clinton, interview with Columbus, Ohio, TV station, March 4, 2008.
It has become part of political mythology that you cannot win the presidency without carrying Ohio. (Actually John Kennedy pulled off this feat in 1960, winning the general election even though he lost Ohio by 273,000 votes.) But can you win the presidency without winning your party’s Ohio primary? History suggests that Hillary Clinton is wrong on this point.
Okay It’s A Cheap Laugh….but you know…I am SERIOUSLY into that sort of thing.
Found over at RoadKill Refuge’s Site.
Enjoy the Video…and then scoot over to Roadkill…I mean it scoot.

Bill Clinton is a smart guy.
He once said that if one candidate is appealing to your fears and the other one is appealing to your hopes then you better vote for the person that wants you to think and hope.
See
Obama is the right choice.
Immediate members of my own Family fit into these groups.
Still.

When I was about 5 my baby cousin died from SIDS.
When I was in my twenties my friend put a shotgun into his mouth and ended his life.
When I was in my 30’s I slept with my phone because on some nights because I was ” On Call ” as a Mortician’s Apprentice and those calls meant that I was going somewhere to meet a family who were going through a devastating experience.
All of these events unfolded in my life with the same thing.
A ringing phone.
Years later I still equate the sound of a phone ringing me out of sleep with Death.
And now there’s this campaign ad:
“It’s 3:00 am and your children are safe and asleep. But there’s a phone in the White House and it’s ringing,” the male narrator says in the ad. “Something’s happening in the world. Your vote will decide who answers that call.”
The only word that comes to my mind now in regards to a candidate
who has so much to offer
would use this tactic….
is
Why.

for my friends
good luck to you all
because I have no doubt in my heart you are true in what you
believe
and I admire that.

You will never have the perfect President
be it a Man or a Woman
Republican Or Democrat
because they are not PURE
You will never have a Political Philosophy that
is
durable and forever
because Politics
is not PURE
No one will be able to write a book or champion a cause or start a movement
that will save the world
because no action is PURE.
People are flawed and vain and unreliable and unpredictable
nothing we do will ever be Pure
Because We Are Human.
