Because Wednesdays are dull… (via develish1)

DEV DOES IT AGAIN!

Yay For Dev!

Because Wednesdays are dull... Well Wednesdays are dull. I mean, after Tuxday anything's going to be a let down, right? Well after seeking suggestions from you all for far longer than I care to think about, I decided to simply act on a possibly random comment, and run with it… You can therefore blame today's selections on Jacy, as it's the result of her comment the other day "Oh, I do love him scruffy…" So with that in mind, how's this lot work for you Jacy? *small thud* scr … Read More

A Carver’s Tale (via Halloween At Anita’s Owl Creek Bridge)

I wrote this for Halloween last year…what can I say, my Grandmothers would have LOVED it.

A Carver’s Tale " How did you get so good at carving pumpkins? " " Practice." Enid told her Granddaughter as she delicately put the tip of her butcher's knife against the side pumpkin's blank face. " Lots and lots of practice." She pushed the knife into he pumpkin's flesh and as she broke the skin she told Aubrey, " I love that smell." " That pumpkin smell?" Enid looked over the pumpkin and said, " That what?" " That pumpkin smell." Enid shrugged and then pulled … Read More

The Good Old Days

I was at the movies last weekend and they showed short clips- a couple were okay but one was a stupid- it was about these guys who made snuff films.

The ending was predictable, the  beginning was predictable and I couldn’t tell you about the middle because I was busy eating my popcorn -what can I say, I haven’t been to the movies in ages and I realized as I started eating my theatre popcorn how much I really love the stuff.

So, as I tuned into the short film clips they were showing I thought to myself- you know what else I miss?

The concession stand commercials.

They were  true works of film art.

I  can say that because this is my blog.

So

THERE.

No Worries

I am working on stories for Halloween.

I was concerned I would not be be inspired this year

because I have been distracted by the ‘real world’.

Now

my only concern is that my monsters will not be able to measure up to the less than savory characters I have been crossing paths  with in my day to day life.

That I suppose, will be the challenge I have to meet as a writer.

If I’m Found Dead Because I Died

For the most part I liked the Blair Witch Project.

My only criticism of the movie was that I hated those kids and I kept wondering why it was taking days for a witch with ultra mega evil powers to take down three whiney little brats.

So  by the time she showed up and the weird stuff started to happen I was too relieved to be scared unlike the rest of the audience who were clearly on Team Cry Baby.

Now.

Had those students been more like this guy- I may have had some sympathy for the Witch’s victims.

Maybe.

Saturday

Its Saturday, it’s a three-day weekend and I am writing stories for October

and by October I mean

Halloween

Right now my husband is running for office

which means I am up to my, er, hips in politics.

One can only imagine the horrors  I will  be inspired to write.

Anita Marie’s Helpful Hints

This toy was not made to ward off monsters

but trust me-
in a pinch it can do wonders.

Glad I could help.

Have a great Friday.

Electricity Is Not My Friend

I have almost been hit by lightning twice:

Once it hit a tree about five feet away from where I was standing.

The next time I was almost hit I was out in the woods and this time the lighting hit the ground right next to me- I was fine until I heard someone  scream, ” Wow, is that woman DEAD?”

So of course I start looking for a dead person.

It took me a minute to realize they were talking about me.

I’ve also been electrocuted at least a half-dozen times.

I hate electricity.

And I think it hates me right back.
