Convicted Felon, President-elect Donald Trump has named Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone as Hollywood’s “special ambassadors,” with the aim of boosting domestic production of film and TV shows as the entertainment industry increasingly opts to shoot in other countries.
This isn’t a joke.
Trump thinks that these three guys will return Hollywood to it’s ” former glory”. You know, he wants to make Hollywood Great Again.
For some reason, when I saw this stupid stunt, I thought back on when Comic books were censored back in the 40’s and stories about Werewolves were banned.
It really happened.
Comics were seen as a blight on Democracy and there was an effort to torch the entire industry.
Of course the Comic book publishers didn’t want to be run out of business by the Government, so they put a little group together called The Association of Comic Magazine Publishers and they came up with a code.
The Comics Code
It included:
- A crackdown on “sexy” images; no nude images
- Criminals should always be bad and never triumph over good. Comics should make it clear that they should not be imitated.
- Authority figures (cops, government officials, organizations) should be respected.
- A ban on torture.
- Werewolves, zombies, vampires, and ghouls couldn’t be used.
- Entreaties against slang and “vulgar” language.
- An order to respect the sanctity of the family (i.e., no divorce or gay people).
- A ban on comics dealing in racial and religious prejudice — this sounds good in theory, but as the Comic Book Defense League Fund points out, it eliminated stories that challenged the religious beliefs of Comic Code administrator Charles F. Murphy and reduced representation of nonwhite people.

The Real issue with comics is that they did what Rod Serling eventually did with some of his Twilight Zone stories.
Serling couldn’t present stories about injustices- racial being one of the biggies, so instead of lines coming out of the mouth of some Bubba with a noose in his hand- he had the lines come out of the mouths of Martians
However, back in the 40’s that argumenet wasn’t going to fly- free speech, thoughts, ideas artwork were seen as threats to The US Government and it was not going to be tolerated.
It’s like Convicted Felon, Donald Trump is sending his Stooges into Hollywood to make it ‘user friendly’ to himself. He sees free speech and expression as threats to HIMSELF.
I think it’s safe to say that Trumps Three Stooges have had a hard time getting any attention in Hollywood. I mean, it’s not like they’ve had a lot of gigs over the years. Maybe they ‘re a little bitter over that.
But that’s Trump’s supporters in a nutshell.
They’re a bunch of white people who haven’t got what they feel they were entitled and those entitlements have gone to people who didn’t ‘deserve’ them the way they have.
What a bunch of babies.
I just hope that this time these idiots leave the Werewolves alone.
