Fine. We’ll Go There.

a christmas rant from

The Bones

skel3

I was walking home from my bus stop yesterday when I noticed

the glaring lack of Christmas decorations on my street.

The next day I noticed

a glaring lack of  Christmas decorations on a lot of houses beyond my street and I suppose that

there may not be

– to paraphrase Dickens-

 much to make Merry about.

Eight of my friends have lost their jobs

my nephew lost his life

my patience is gone

my sense of humor is non-existent

and if I have to suffer through one more freaking commentary from

” Progressive Liberals” whining and bitching about how

disappointed they are in Obama’s Cabinet Appointments I am going to take my middle finger

and jab it into someones eye.

If you have a pulse and you have a job and there is the slightest ray of hope making it into your life may I suggest that you make the best out of what you have because the alternative to not having your life, a job and hope really, really sucks.

Now get the plastic Santa out of that box in your garage, pour yourself some eggnog and try to enjoy what you have.

It could all be over before you know what’s hit you.

  1. love your post Anita.
I live on a tiny Island in the pacific called E’ua. We don’t have Christmas decorations here to put up, but I’m going to make something out of shells and coconut leaves now I’ve read your post, to put around the fala (house.)
    love your blog.

  2. Yep, I have family members out of work, I have family members who are sick, and I have my own freakin’ problems to deal with… but I have a job, a roof over my head, and food on the table. So today I made gingerbread cookies. I know it’s not a plastic Santa but it works for me.

    L.

  3. Aw Chookie, we’re all jolly here. Crizmus songs, tree and lights. My fave song at the mo is Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. It makes me laugh. Hope you get some laffs soon.

  4. L. I’m sorry to hear things are rough for yours too- but you staying strong is the best thing you can do for them,

Kitty, you can always get a string of those singing Christmas Tree Lights- once you’ve heard those things go off for the billionth time it’s either sing or cry but you’ll want to do something to drown out the sound.

Max wreaths are cool, don’t forget to wear something sparkly ( like I have to say that )

Cle- Chookie cracked me up. I love that name.

    Thank you N.M. you’re a doll.

Great reminder. No job, no life, figuratively, but I’ve got a pulse. You’re reminded me of an email I receive, I think I’ll post it. Thanks!

  6. Cle, you forgot to mention cackleberries (eggs – work it out) and the famous chook raffle. I actually won one once, only it wasn’t a chook, it was BBQ steak. And AM, yes, we have been through times I wouldn’t wish on anyone but that makes Christmas and the chance to come together again all the more precious.

  7. Chookie,,,wookie….It would be rather amusing to see a remake of Star Wars ( not those crappy “first ” 3 episodes…I’m a purist!!) with a giant chook instead of a wookie.,,,
