Hey Paris Hilton: Bust You!

There are Three Good rock solid reasons  for why Paris Hilton needs to be sent back to jail:

She broke the law.

She broke the law.

She broke the law.

And as an FYI they don’t suspend your license for fun, it’s usually a sign you’ve got a problem like this guy.

So go back to jail Hilton, you aren’t singing any song that every single jail bird before you  hasn’t sung before. (I learned my lesson, I don’t belong here… etc etc ).  It doesn’t work for them and it sure as hell shouldn’t work for you.

Oh yes…I almost forgot… as Hilton sat at home eating celebration cupcakes ( I’m not kidding about that part )  her attorney issued this statement:

“I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and staff of the Century Regional Detention Center for treating me fairly and professionally,” she said. “I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes.”

The only lesson we’ve learned here is that there’s Paris Hilton and the rest of humanity.

  1. A lot of people think the media is making too big a deal of this. Well, this is because it IS a big deal on so many levels. Here are just a couple:
Obviously, this situation illustrates the perception that there are two different judicial systems– one for the rich and one for the rest of us. Nothing new here but Ms. Hilton should be thanked for bringing this to the attention of the world. I may be naive, but just maybe this situation will bring about a change.
Secondly, there is the issue of a shortage of prisoner accommodations. Judges sentence criminals, yet the Sheriff is required by law to release lesser offenders because of lack of space. (How messed up is that?) Now this was not the case with Ms. Hilton per se; however, it sets the precedent that the Sheriff can over-ride sentences whenever HE thinks is fit. Since this law is federally mandated I am assuming this situation is not common only to L.A. County.
The bottom line, though, is I am just glad that one more drunk is off the streets that I and my loved ones drive on a daily basis (at least for a few weeks). I just wish we can get all the rest of these celebutant-bimbi off the streets as well.

  2. Lori I couldn’t agree with you more-
what concerned me ( along with the social injustice here ) was the ‘pooh pooh it was just a DUI’ comments I kept hearing.

Nobody would laugh if you pulled a gun out on the street and started waving it around and they sure wouldn’t laugh if you shot at a few things…would they?

Well, that’s what driving drunk is all about…plus I’m offended by the pet name they’ve given to DUI’s…
they call them ” deweys’…like it some little cartoon thing.

I’m not laughing and I think Hilton is a good place to start discussing this issue.
